The Carter G. Woodson School is a story of finding a way, and not a way out. Our school arose from the hopes, dreams, frustrations and determination of a group of ordinary people who were profoundly concerned about the future welfare and well- being of their children.
Be Part of Our Community
The Carter G. Woodson School values the wisdom of our community, and make every effort to mobilize the community around our children:
Our Board of Directors invites and solicits community involvement.
Our volunteer organization, ITV (It Takes a Village), composed of administrators, faculty and staff, parents, students, and interested members of the community, is actively involved in all aspects of our School to see that our children are successful.
Our extracurricular activities and special programs, seminars and workshops regularly include parents and younger siblings of students.
We encourage our students’ parents and guardians to be active participants in the learning experience with their children.
We look forward to welcoming you as a part of our Carter G. Woodson School family.
