Agriculture & Food Science

Carter G. Woodson’s – Woodson’s Community Farm is our innovative hands-on-experience project and curriculum that’s part of our new Agriculture and Food Sciences Pathway to STEAM Program. As the Woodson’s Community Farm grows, students will learn soil conservation, beekeeping, how to raise hens, care for goats and animal husbandry. to create a healthy lifestyle.

We’re taking the lead with our new initiative to move our students and community forward in the science of food. Urban Farming is an excellent opportunity for students, staff, and community to learn and to apply the principles of food science to create a healthy lifestyle.

Urban Agriculture

Our students will learn the science behind food, the need for sustainable urban agriculture, and the art of organic farming and gardening.

Beekeeping

We take pride in training the next generation of beekeepers. Maintaining a healthy bee population is essential for nature as well as the health of the community.

Healthier Living

When children learn better they eat better and it is our mission to teach our children, from kindergarten to 12th grade, how to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle.
