Transportation Information

The Transportation department’s number one priority is getting students to and from school safely. Our department handles Stop Requests, routing changes, weather, and road closures. In the course of a regular school day, we handle several calls from Bus Drivers, Schools, Parents, Mechanics, and Government Agencies. We look forward to assisting you as we provide safe and efficient transportation services to our students.

Bus Stop Requests

Parents the deadline for requesting a new bus stop or for making changes to a current bus stop for the upcoming school year was Monday, July 29, 2024.  If your address has changed, contact Carter G. Woodson School.

The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, August 12, 2024. Please remember this deadline is only for new stop requests, or for those wishing to change a current stop.

If there is no change needed, parents do not need to make another request. After the July 29, 2024 deadline, all bus stop requests will take 48 hours to complete. Families must complete the bus stop request form.

At CGW, all students must follow CGW’s student handbook. Students can be written up and lose bus riding privileges. For serious school bus violations, students can be permanently expelled from the bus.
